In Reality

A work in progress...surely you will see lots about chickens but the story expands quickly :)

Knit Wit

I began knitting when I was much younger but never really kept up with it.  I picked it up again a few years ago when my granddaughter was born to knit her this monkey. (will insert photo when I find one :)) Then I started getting back into it more steadily. One of my current projects (of many) is a prayer shawl for a very lovely lady who has the same type of Breast Cancer that I do, however she is at a much more advanced stage than I.  She has a wonderful bright personality and I hope the shawl reflects that.  The colors are bright and reminiscent of her beautiful smile and happy spirit.  My next project will be an elephant for my 2nd grandchild who will be here in just a few months.  Baby "e" is due in early February but I expect an early birth.  I should be knitting and not typing!!!!

Update:  Emmett was born on 1/23/2013!  He is growing and truly an adorable little guy.  I finished the elephant before Emmett arrived.

My favorite shop is Stash in Castle Rock, CO.  It is a cute little shop with a wonderful owner Crystal.  I love knitting on Addis.  Crystal offers classes and I have taken a few.  Mostly I learn on my own with the help of videos on you tube.  My favorite videos are at Knit Freedom.  They are great videos that really allow you to see the stitches close up and take the time to understand new ones.

I will post pictures of my projects soon....
Prayer shawl completed around 12/2012.  This was made in memory of a very special lady who passed away from Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  Her light was very bright and happy and I think the shawl is reflective of her.   The name of this Shawl in honor of her is "Desa".

Child's hat I made (Crochet) for Kira, she wore it all the time :) I loved it!
Ok, not knit or crochet but a really cool candy bowl for Halloween. Great pattern and fun to do with different fabrics.  Still want to do some for Christmas.
